The paper in this sketchbook is quite flimsy and textured but is wonderful to draw on with pen and ink. I visited this complex of villas in November to see if they would be suitable for a future painting holiday. The swimming pool in the foreground was deserted apart from a family of stray cats but the gardens were absolutely beautiful.
